Discover the town of Sète in Hérault

A must-see during your holiday at the Les Berges du Canal campsite, Sète is an invitation to a change of scenery. Located on the edge of one of the most beautiful sandy beaches in the south of France, Sète remains one of the few places on the Mediterranean coast that is still authentic.

Your holiday at the Les Berges du Canal campsite begins.

In addition to its history, it is the geographical location of Sète that makes this city so special. Built between the sea, the lagoon, and its network of canals, Sète boasts its own Lido and proudly claims the title of the "Little Venice of Languedoc". With its aniseed aperitifs, southern accent, and bustling fish market, Sète will charm you with its character and easygoing way of life. At the edge of the canal, you can watch the traditional Sète jousting. In summer, it is impossible to spend a holiday in Sète without attending the jousting! It's also the perfect opportunity for food lovers to sample Tielle and Macaronade – traditional specialities brought to Sète by Italian immigrant fishermen, with each family guarding its own secret recipe.

Another must during your holiday in Sète is exploring the Étang de Thau lagoon. Following in the footsteps of Brassens, shellfish lovers can gather at one of the many oyster huts to savour the famous Bouzigues oyster. Protected from the hustle and bustle of the seaside and the city centre, the place is heavenly and truly authentic. The panorama of Mont St Clair overlooking the city and the oyster farms is breathtaking, and the sunsets are among the most beautiful on the coast.

For concert enthusiasts, there's a truly unique – even magical – venue:

the Théâtre de la Mer. Located at the exit of the port of Sète, on the cliff, it is an open-air theatre set up in an old fort. Built on the side of a cliff, the special feature of this theatre is that spectators can admire the artist and the Mediterranean Sea at the same time. Ben Harper, who performed here, even sang a song with his back to the audience to admire the moon’s reflection on the sea.

Located in a peaceful spot right on the banks of the Canal du Midi, just beside a bike and boat rental base with no license required, our campsite enjoys an exceptional location and offers everything needed for a successful family holiday.

The water features of the two pools in the aquatic area, the restaurant, numerous activities, and themed evenings will delight both young and old alike. For accommodation, we offer lush pitches with electrical hookups as well as unique rentals like a treetop bivouac or our famous Cocosweet tent. You'll also find comfortable, fully equipped mobile homes with terraces that can accommodate up to 8 people – sure to satisfy even the most discerning guests. Whether with family or friends, your stay at the Les Berges du Canal campsite will be unforgettable.

The team at the Les Berges du Canal campsite wishes you a wonderful holiday in Sète.
